Major Change

Alright, so for the past while I've made two more painted sculptures, and they're quite better than the angel attempt. That one was more to see if paint would work good even on tape, as the Cabadath thing used my Dad's paints.
Anyway.
I am currently attempting to write a story that has been a long time in the making. I've only got one page so far, but it's a start that doesn't leave me feeling like it's terrible, so that is a good sign.
I've got a minor in journalism instead of a major, and am getting a major in English. Why? I want to be an artist somehow... and yet, this world completely discourages that.
I am not a specialist, and I refuse to become something I am not to fit in.
I'm sure you've heard it before... so here's a different reason-
In journalism, I run around trying to find gold amongst the dither of public opinion. Have to get right into the heart of things, forever. You can't get out or you lose the connections. The work has no value, because it doesn't matter who wrote it, and the next day the story is old news, dead, throw the thing out and find two more again.
It's not valuable work to me. What's really valuable I think is if I can somehow create something myself that's got -me- in it, and not writing to showcase someone else! It's been swell meeting people, for sure, and it's good to hear feedback from some of my journalistic work. But those stories were ones where I took the liberty to get people to feel like they're right there- arts and culture stuff. In the outside, I could probably get a job like that without needing the major, which at this point would prevent me from taking English, Arts, or Drama- the classes I feel I should be at.
Anyway, that's what's up with me. Again, I probably left a bunch out so ask me questions if you really want to know.
Oh, and how are you?
